It is my aim to make luxury sustainable textiles accessible to as many people as possible, for as many creative purposes as I can, creating something special for each unique human contributing their existance to this wonderful planet.
Ethically & Sustainably Sourced and Made:
All items are completely handmade from scratch using recycled organic materials.
Each item is made by myself and helps pay my bills and keep me able to look for new sustainable fibres on the market, to bring to you in as many ways as I can!
I am passionate about exploring ancient crafts, pairing them with wonderful modern advancements in our understanding of sustainability and ingenuity to introduce to fashion opportunities to slow down, be unique, foster better mental health, enliven heritage and give these cherished skills a modern relevance in helping redefine life in a world that needs to become sustainable if it wishes to survive and evolve.
Spend more, less often:
I create luxury one-off textiles, as a way to explore and share sustainable fibres and emphasise the importance of cherishing fabrics in a world craving fast-fashion. I do not often use a spinning wheel, hence the time consuming expense made as each yarn is handspun using a drop spindle - the oldest existing traditional way to create fibre - created possibly before even the mummies walked the earth. My goodness, just imagine how long those mummification bandages must have taken to make and the threads for ancient Chinese tapestries, the ornate garments of ye old England!
Some even propose that the spindle may have inspired the invention of the wheel!
My weaving loom is hand-made by myself, using an old pallet and nails (please e-mail me if you'd like to know how I made it!)
One small business supporting another:
I try to buy my fibres from as many ingenuitive start-ups & creative farmers as I possibly can - if you're a farmer / scientist trying to create the happiest sheep, or the next pineapple leather, pop me an e-mail.
